The Knanaya Catholic Congress of North America (KCCNA) is a National Catholic lay Organization, which has membership of 20,000 Knanaya Catholics living in the United States of America and Canada. All the Knanaya Catholics living in
North America are members of this organization and which has been in existence for 20 years. The innate tendency of Knanites to preserve their unique culture and special traditions prompted them to form local associations to know each other more closely. KCCNA is a federation of all such Knanaya Catholic Associations in North America.
KCCNA was formed in 1988 to maintain unity among all member associations and as a channel for communicating with all Knanaya Catholics spread across North America. As a lay organization, KCCNA strives to maintain and promote Knanaya culture, traditions and heritage. KCCNA organizes Knanaya Community gatherings at regional, territorial and international levels to develop and maintain contacts and relationship with Knanaya communities all over the world. KCCNA currently has 20 member associations in North America. Knanaya Catholics in North America are Syrian Catholic immigrants from the Archeparchy of Kottayam,
Kerala, in the late seventies.
